CANCER

Gilles Pages

Gilles PAGESresearch director at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research at the University of Côte d'Azur, for his project on adapting treatments for older people with kidney cancer.

The “Senior Researcher of the Fondation de France / Jean Valade” Prize, worth €100,000, crowns the career of a researcher.

Jacky Goetz

Jacky GOETZ, research director at INSERM in Strasbourg, for his project “What if the biomechanics of cancer cells could become their Achilles heel?

The “Young researcher from the Fondation de France / Jean Valade” Prize is worth €50,000. It rewards the progress of original and innovative research which has led or will lead to clinical, epidemiological applications and improvement of practices.

Iléana Antony-Debré

Iléana ANTONY-DEBRÉ, INSERM researcher in Gustave-Roussy (Villejuif), for her project on the identification of the drivers of the evolution of leukemias affecting the TP53 gene.

The Lucie and Olga Fradiss Foundation prize, worth €23,000, is awarded to a French researcher or a fundamental oncology team, in partnership with Gustave Roussy.

Pierre-Antoine Laurent

Pierre-Antoine LAURENT, radiation oncologist in Gustave-Roussy (Villejuif), for his project on the determining factors of individual radiosensitivity.

The Lucien Mallet Foundation Prize, worth €7,000, rewards radiotherapists whose work has contributed to the progress of research techniques for the relief or cure of malignant tumors.

Alexis Elbaz

Alexis ELBAZresearch director at Paul Brousse Hospital (Villejuif), for his team's project “Exposome, heredity, cancer and health”: Epidemiology of Parkinson's disease, with an interest in the study of interactions between environmental or behavioral and genetic factors.

The Eliane and Gérard Pauthier Foundation awards a prize of €30,000 to a team working in a non-profit research laboratory.


MICROBIOLOGY

Vincent Libis

Vincent LIBIS, head of the research group at INSERM in Gustave-Roussy (Villejuif), for his research project on new bioactive microbial metabolites by synthetic biology.

François Rousset

François ROUSSET, postdoctoral researcher at Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel), for his research project on molecular conflicts between bacteria and viruses.

The Jacques Monod Foundation Prize, worth €16,000 (€8,000 for each winner), is awarded to a young researcher who has undertaken work on the molecular aspects of cellular regulations.

Frédéric Barras

Frédéric BARRAS, professor-researcher at the Pasteur Institute in Marseille, for his research project on bacterial adaptation to stress.

The Thérèse Lebrasseur Foundation Prize, worth €50,000, is awarded to a researcher from the Pasteur Institute who has never used vivisection.

Michel Zeitouni

Michel ZEITOUNI, cardiologist specializing in cardiovascular physiology at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital (Paris), for his project: Premature coronary atherosclerosis: risk factors, prognosis, prevention and new mechanistic approaches.

The Doctor Lucie and Olga Fradiss Prize, organized by the French Society of Cardiology and endowed with €23,000, is awarded to a team of French doctors or researchers for the publication of original work covering alternately every other year on cardiac prostheses and atherosclerosis..

Zhenya Shen

Shi Jun Hu

Zhengya SHEN and Shijun HU, professors at the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences at Soochow University (China), for their project: Doubling the differentiation capacity of cardiomyocytes and identifying a new mechanism of myocardial repair by stem cell-derived exosomes mediated by macrophages.

The Charpak-Dubousset Prize, awarded by the BOXIAO foundation, is intended to reward collaborative innovation work in the field of health.


ORTHOPEDICS

Solène Prost

Solène PROST, university lecturer and hospital practitioner in Marseille, for her project: Development of specific rods for spinal deformity corrections.

The AFIDEO/FICOT, Foundation for Innovation in Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery prize, worth €2,000, is awarded to a surgeon under 35 years old presenting a paper at the SOFCOT (French Society of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery) congress. in connection with an implant based on a concept of French origin.

Rayane Benhenneda

Rayane BENHENNEDA, intern in orthopedic and traumatological surgery at the CHRU of Tours, for his project on artificial intelligence in the field of arthroscopy.

The Frantz Langlais / FICOT Prize, Foundation for Innovation in Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery, endowed with €2,000, is awarded to researchers who use artificial intelligence in surgical procedures in orthopedic and trauma surgery.

Laurent MATHIEU and Jean-Marc COLLOMBET, respectively associate professor of Val-de-Grâce (orthopedic surgery department of the HIA Percy) and doctor (“Osteo-Articular Biotherapies” unit of the IRBA), for their project of development of innovative bone substitutes using the Induced Membrane Technique (IMT)

The Charpak-Dubousset Prize, awarded by the BOXIAO foundation, is intended to reward collaborative innovation work in the field of health.


NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASE

Marina Celestine

Marina CELESTINE, researcher in fundamental neuroscience and psychiatry at Harvard Medical School (United States), for her research project on the study of the regulation of Alzheimer's pathology by variants of amyloid-β, which can be toxic or protective, with the aim of highlighting mechanisms of action that can be used as therapeutic tools.​

Dario Saracino

Dario SARACINO, hospital practitioner in neurology at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital (Paris), for his project on the characterization of blood and brain imaging markers making it possible to monitor the progression of Alzheimer's disease from the presymptomatic phase in individuals at genetic risk. These results could help to facilitate the inclusion of individuals in therapeutic trials and to measure the response to treatments.

The Philippe Chatrier Foundation prize, worth €10,000 (€5,000 for each winner), rewards one or more young researchers for fundamental or clinical research work in the field of Alzheimer's disease.


NEUROSCIENCES

Mary-Amélie MASSON, doctoral researcher at the Institut du Cerveau (Paris), for her project on the role of postsynaptic density protein 95 in myelination of the central nervous system.

The Marie-Ange Bouvet Labruyère Foundation prize is worth €20,000. It supports innovative work on multiple sclerosis and myelin diseases.


MEDICO-LEGAL

Lucile TUCHTAN, general practitioner in Marseille, for his project on modeling the human neuroaxis for forensic purposes.

Ryan Toutin, doctor at Toulouse University Hospital, for his project on analysis of the geographical distribution of places of residence of women victims of domestic violence, within the city of Toulouse.

Domitille CALLON, forensic doctor in Reims, for his project on sudden cardiac death in young subjects due to viral myocarditis.

The Professor Charles Massias Foundation prize rewards researchers or research teams based in France for projects relating to medico-legal themes. The first prize is worth €40,000 and the second and third prizes are worth €20,000 each.
